InfantSEE™ -- "Something Wonderful Is Happening in Optometry"
Refusing to allow the brick wall erected by ophthalmologists and pediatricians to block optometry from providing necessary care for our nation’s children through legislation, wise optometric colleagues like Dr.David Sullins and Dr. Glen Steele hatched a brilliant idea. If what was truly most important was our patients’ well-being, then we needed to prove it.
Well, prove it we did! What began as Operation Bright Start and evolved into InfantSEE™ is quickly sweeping communities throughout the United States, changing the lives of families and changing the way patients look at optometry, and perhaps even health care in general.
The positive impact and media landslide caused by InfantSEE™ has been nothing short of incredible. InfantSEE™ harkens to a simple time, before managed care and health insurance, when doctors provided for those who couldn’t afford health care. Today’s patients may not be accustomed to a doctor who cares, but they absolutely love it!
With the support of former President Jimmy Carter, our AOA and the Vision Care Institute of Johnson & Johnson Vision Care have done an incredible job in bringing InfantSEE™ to life. My hat is off to them and to the 7,000 optometrists who take part in this wonderful program. The bridges we build today will pay dividends for our patients and our profession for many, many years to come.
